Martina moved to Australia in 2022 where she is currently basing her undergraduate studies. Her work consists of a constant query of displacement utilising her body as a tool for representation of internal uneasiness. Martina loves visual rhythms, textures and sensorial materials. She uses photography as her main medium but her work is a recurrent search for new methods. She likes incorporating alternative processes, painting, sculpture and installation. Trying to balance (or not) absurdity and rawness, she creates reflective sanctuaries imitating transitions and transformations, exploring emotional and cultural detachment.
I am currently living and working in Naarm, on the unceded sovereign land of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. I pay my respects to their Elders, past, present and emerging.
