This project sets out to present an interrupted persona through a projection of images: nameless and genderless, involving shapes and objects. Each fabric layer interrupts some part of the image’s information, leading to the fading and blurring of the photographs. A slow decaying of the loss of self
This project was made as part of Ambiance Collective: it is a multimedia artist collectice created as part of the Forms for Encounter and Exchange Studio, led by Dr. Kelly Hussey-Smith and Dr. Marnie Bradham. Composed of ten different members from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, the collective examines what it means ‘to be here’ within the shared experience that sparked the human connection to one’s root and rhizomes.
In collaboration with the Centre for Projection Arts, the collective held their inagural exhibition as part of the Social and Exchange event at Collingwood Yards in November 2022. The Project was backed by RMIT, Composite, Centre for Projection Art and Yarra City Arts. It was then selected to be exhibited at First Site Gallery: ‘Crawl Space’ in June 2023 with the collective.
Es la persona interrumpida creada a traves de la proyección de imagenes: sin nombre y sin género, introducida por formas y objetos. Cada superficie de tela interrumpe la información de la imagen, llevando a que ésta se desdibuje. Es un lento proceso de decadencia propia al estar sumergido en un desplazamiento no forzado cultural.
Este proyecto fue hecho en parte de Ambience Collective: un colectivo de arte multimedial en el cual se creó a partir del curso Forms and Exchange, dirigido por la Dra. Kelly Hussey-Smith y la Dra. Marnie Bradham. Compuesta por diez diferentes miembros de diversos fondos culturales y lingüísticos, la colectiva examina qué significa estar acá, compartiendo mutuamente la experiencia que embarca la conexión humana desde las raíces de cada uno.
En colaboración con Centre for Projection Arts, el colectivo llevó a cabo su inauguración en el evento Social and Exchange en Collingwood Yards en Noviembre del 2022. Este proyecto fue apoyado por RMIT, Composite, Centre for Projection Art y Yarra City Arts. Después fue seleccionado para exhibir en First Site Gallery: Crawl Space en Junio del 2023 junto a Ambience Collective.
